Pangong Lake

Pangong Lake is also called Pangong Tso, it is situated at an elevation of 14,270 feet. It traces itself between the laps of India and China. This picturesque lake is salty and because of this feature, no aquatic life survives in the lake.
The temperature range between -30°C to -10°C makes even this salty lake freeze with wide ice sheets. This tremendous landscape attracts many travelers in search of a thrill. You can experience photography, bird watching, and other chilling experiences. Pangong has a unique feature, it acts as a chameleon and changes its color from time to time.

Magnetic Hill

Also known as Gravity Hill, this place with a bizarre phenomenon attracts thousands of tourists every month. A signboard occurs indicating Magnetic Hill and a white box captioned with 'Park your vehicle here' shows ahead of the board. One can park their vehicle in neutral and the vehicle moves uphill at a speed of 10 to 20km/hr by itself against gravity. This is the perfect location to click pictures, record videos. Many of the theories are in favour of and against this phenomenon. But the actual reason is that it is just an optical illusion. Visit Magnetic Hill and experience it yourself. 

Khardung La Pass

This mountain pass is very famous amongst adventure seekers and other tourists. Khardung La pass is the most fascinating and unexplored terrain. It is placed at an elevation of 5,359 meters. From a historical point of view, Khardung La lies on the crucial caravan route that connects Leh to Kashgar in Central Asia. Khardung La pass used to carry goods to the Siachen Glacier. This pass is conserved by the Border Road Organisations and is one of the highest honourable passes all across the world.

Nubra Valley

Nubra Valley is a high-altitude cold desert and a division of the Tibetan Plateau that starts in China and extends up to Ladakh. Nubra Valley was created by the combined consequences of the Shyok and Nubra rivers. This is the most tremendous region in all of Ladakh. It includes many other attractions like Hunder Sand Dunes, Diskit Monastery, Yarab Tso Lake, Samstanling Gompa. A great place to explore.

Tso Moriri Lake

Tso Moriri Lake, near about 28 km in length and 100 feet in depth is located inside the Changtang Wildlife Sanctuary, it is a sister parallel to the Tso Pangong Lake. This beautiful lake with mountains, sunshine, and fresh breeze offers enormous views and is one of the great places in Leh to explore. It remains frozen from January to March.

Lamayuru Monastery

This monastery is located at a distance of 125 km from Leh. It is an impressive place to explore the scenic snow-capped mountains of the region. Lamayuru Monastery lies on the top of dusty mountains with beautiful cranks and looks amazing in this isolated area.

Diskit Gompa

Diskit Gompa was founded in the 14th century, by Changzem Tserab Zangpo, a disciple of Tsong Khapa. It is the oldest and largest surviving monastery in the Nubra Valley. It is situated on the top of a hill right above the tidal plain of the Shyok River. The Gompa fascinates you with its mesmerizing beauty.

Shanti Stupa

If you want to experience an eternity of breathlessness, this is one of the wonderful places to see in Leh Ladakh. This white beautiful serene Shanti Stupa is located on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district, Ladakh at a height of 4267 meters, enclosed by snow-capped mountains. It was founded by the Japanese monks to spread peace and celebrate the 2500 years of Buddhism. Best place for calmness at a distance of about 5km from Leh city.

Shey Monastery 

It is placed 15 kilometres south of Leh, the second-largest statue in Ladakh city. It was established by Ladakh's King Deldan Namgyal. Famous for the magnificent metal statue of Lord Buddha. Shey Monastery is significant for Tibetans.

Kargil

 Kargil is well known for its rich cultural, historical, and political importance. Located at an altitude of 2676 meters above sea level, along with the banks of the Indus River. Kargil is known for the battlefield for the Kargil War which was fought in 1999. Kargil is presently a quiet and wonderful city, mid of the huge, bare mountains of the Himalayas with the freshwater of Indus flowing right beside it. Kargil city is the second-largest in the Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir after Leh.

Royal Leh Palace

Royal Leh Palace is located in Leh, Ladakh town, and was built in the 16th century. It exhibits the magnificence of the period gone by. You can enjoy the spectacular view of the pastoral Zanskar Valley. Such views rejuvenate your heart, eyes, and soul. If you like history then this is the perfect place for you.

Alchi Monastery

Alchi Monastery is one of the ancient parts of the monastic complex and is administered by the Likir Monastery. This place is spotted with several monasteries and this monastery also comes under one of them. The monastery includes three memorials in total, the Dukhang, the Sum Tsek, and the temple of Manjushri and each one has a story behind it.

Gurudwara Pathar Sahib

It is located on the Leh-Kargil highway and one voyaging the area can also visit the place. This Gurudwara is the most visited site and was established to retain Guru Nanak Dev in the hearts of people.

Sangam Point

This place shows the factual significance of fusion, the spot where the two rivers of Leh merge, one is Zanskar and another is Indus. Both rivers, Indus and Zanskar have varying textures, while the Indus shows the texture of green and Zanskar is more of browns. When the two rivers fuse into one another, the view is tremendous and worth watching. You can also enjoy rafting with the fast and lofty rapids of the Zanskar river. This is one of the most amazing places in Leh.

Tso Kar Lake

If you want to explore a more exhilarating place in Leh, you must visit Tso Kar Lake. It is a saline water lake located at an elevation of 4530m and resembles the virtue of nature, and has several picturesque bounties in its habitat. You can also notice the nomads along the lake and they have interesting stories to tell you about their life.

Hall of Fame

It is built to show gratitude towards the martyred and keep up the soldiers alive in our hearts. Witness a wide range of weapons of the Indo-Pak war. The place is divided into 2 parts, one shows the variants of weapons and arms while the other part shows the attire which was won by the soldiers at the time of war, and on the lower section, with seem you can see several paintings and scenes of the Kargil war. The hall of fame is devoted to showcasing the splendor of the soldiers.

Thiksay Monastery

Thiksey Monastery, located approx 17km from Leh, Ladakh, is a Tibetan-style monastery situated on the top of the hill. It is one of the largest gompas in central Ladakh and takes you closer to the culture of Buddhism. It is elevated at an altitude of almost 11,800 ft along the Indus Valley. This place consists of an abundance of stupas, artwork, and more such beautiful things of this territory and a temple in its complex which was built to proclaim the Dalai Lama.

Hemis Monastery

This Monastery built in the era of Drukpas showcases exceptional art. Established on the banks of the Indus River and crafted elegantly, it lies in the neighborhood of Leh, located about 35 km away from the town. This Monastery will undeniably steal your spirits, this place a true bliss.

Drass Valley

Drass Valley, also known as the Gateway to Ladakh, the coldest abode place in the country, provides an experience of mesmerizing beauty and freezing winters. The sheer and raw beauty of the sterile brown mountains leaves you dazzled. This amazing site is situated on the bank of the Drass River. If you want a thrilling experience, try to hold your breath in Drass valley, but be careful, the place is short of Oxygen.
