Kanatal is the hidden gem of Uttarakhand. This beautiful hill town is located in the Tehri Garhwal district in the state of the land of God Uttarakhand. The famous attraction in the Kanatal is the ancient temple “Surkanda Devi Temple” dedicated to Hindu Goddess “Sati” one of the major Shakti Peethas with a stunning view of the Himalayas and nearby places. Another major attraction in Kanantal is Kanatal Kodia forest which is a popular picnic spot and picturesque forest. It is also the Gateway for the four famous places  Tehri, Mussorie, Chamba & Dhanulti. The Nearest airport is  Jolly Grant (25km) in Dehradun closest railway station is Rishikesh (75kms) also just 13 km away from the Queen Of Hills “Mussoorie” 

Kanatal can be visited throughout the whole year as this place has a greener environment with the sweet voices of the beautiful birds, as well the serenity and calmness have their vibes. 
The most recommended time to visit Kanatal is at the time of summer and winter season. You can enjoy the adventure activities like camping, trekking, a Jungle safari at Kodia forest, bird watching, rock climbing, nature walking & hiking. If you are travelling in wintertime don’t forget to bring your woollen cloth. While the monsoon is the fresh and untouchable new time to bloom a flower. It’s not good to visit in monsoon due to Unceratininy of heavy rainfall.

Kanatal in summer (April-June)

The temperature varies in Kanatal from max 30 to min 15c. The hill stations have moderate heat but the blowing of cool air makes it worth it. The most famous activities are trekking, camping, and nature walk through the Kodia forest.

to see the snowfall and enjoy this awesome weather roaming in the Kodia forest. Heavy jackets and warm clothes are the most mandatory things that you have to carry. Dusshera is the biggest festival celebration in Kanatal of about 10 days in which many cultural, social awareness programmes and local events take place that attracts a lot of tourists

  • Kanatal in March  Maximum temperature rises to  16℃ and minimum falls till 4℃.

Kanatal in Monsoon (July-September) 

In July and August faces heavy rainfall in this hill station. Most of the tourists avoid visiting Kanatal this time due to the uncertainty of cloud bursts, grey sky, flooding and lots of swampy and wet roads. The average temperature in monsoon season is an average of max 23 whilst in the night it goes down to 12. In September, the whole hill station is covered with lush green trails and can see the beauty of mountains under a deep blue sky.
