Sattal Lake

Sattal is located at a distance of about 23 Km from Nainital at an altitude of 1370 meters. Sattal is a different, unforgettable spot having bundles of lakes placed among the oak forest. It is being compared with Westmoreland of England. Because someone approaches Sattal, the first lake is old Nal Damyanti Lake. There is the ashram of Stanley Johns, who is an American Missionary. After that, the next lake is Panna and Garuda lake. After we move down there is a group of three lakes, the names of the lakes are Ram, Laxman, and Sita lake.

Sariyatal Lake

Sariyatal is also known as ‘Saritatal’, The texture of the lake is Jade- green, ice-cool lake recline in the navel of the suburban, Nainital. The shape of Sariyatal is a heart with the background of the fascinating Himalayan ranges. The pleasant beauty of the Sariyatal lake makes it a most approachable destination for tourists and locals. The Sariyatal lake is the hometown of the renowned Botanical Garden Which comprises Butterfly Park, Plant Library, Herbarium, and Farmery. The entry fee for the Botanical Garden is INR 20. Timings for opening and closing are 10:00 am and 5:00 pm for all days of the week. 

Khurpatal Lake

Khurpatal Lake is located at a magnificent elevation of about 1600 meters beyond sea level. The gleaming green-coloured Khurpatal Lake has one of the most untraveled lakes of Nainital. Khurpatal Lake has been positioned in the centre of heavy deodar, pine, and tall forests. The lake is also famous for some water activities also named Fishing and Boating. Khurpatal Lake is also known for the Trekking Activity, along with a high number of natural streams all around the lake. Timings for the opening and closing of Khurpatal Lake are 12:00 am and 12:00 pm respectively. It is open for all days of the week. 

Naukuchiatal Lake

Naukuchiatal Lake, as the name indicates, is a lake with nine corners. The depth of Naukuchiatal Lake is approx 40.3 meters, it is considered as one of the deepest lakes of Nainital. Naukuchiatal Lake is the most popular lake among the locals and the tourists in Nainital because of the beautifully decorated banks. The Naukuchiatal Lake is mainly patronized by Honeymoon couples and couples for its placid and natural beauty. In Naukuchiatal Lake water activities are also being performed like Boating, Yachting, and Paddling. Tourists who are interested in Birdwatching and Photography then it is the ideal destination for you. In Nainital, Naukuchiatal Lake is also popular Paragliding. The escape festival is celebrated in May at Naukuchiatal Lake. Timings of opening and closing of Naukuchiatal Lake are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. It is open for all days of the week.

Bhimtal Lake

Bhimtal Lake is spread over a vast area, the forest green-coloured water of Bhimtal Lake along with the evident green backdrop. The surface area of Bhimtal Lake is approx 48 hectares. It is one of the enormous lakes of Nainital. The Bhimtal Lake is located at the centre of Bhimtal. Bhimtal is a small town lying outside of Nainital. The Bhimtal Lake is named after the appearance of Bhim, the great hero from Mahabharata. It is an excellent way to explore the peaceful waters of Bhimtal Lake along with boat cruises. The lake is also famous for birdwatchers, as it is overtaken by different types of species of migratory birds during the winter season. The timings of opening and closing of Bhimtal Lake are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is open for all days of the week. 

Kamaltal Lake 

Kamal Tal is located on the right side of the Naukuchiatal Lake. Kamal Tal is also known as the “ Lake of Lotuses”. As of now activities not done there but is considered as one the most beautiful lakes of Nainital. The face of the lake is being covered by the Lotus flowers for some appropriate season. You can also spot some colorful fishes in Kamal Tal. You can visit Kamal Tal at any time. 

Garudtal Lake 

Garud Tal is also known as Pannatal, Garud Tal is home to one of the seven freshwater lakes that construct up the Sattal Lakes of Nainital. Like Kamal Tal, the sister of Garud Tal is also very peaceful and silent. Garud Tal is considered the most approachable destination for enjoying natural hikes. 

Naini Lake

Naini Lake is one of the most famous lakes for its magnificent beauty and shimmery water located in Nainital. Naini lake is also famous for boating, photography, natural water bodies, and sightseeing. The entry fee for parking at Naini lake is INR 100. The visiting time of  Naini lake is from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Charges for the Gondola Ride is INR 210 and the charges for Pedal Boat is INR 150 per hour. The distance from Pantnagar airport to Naini Lake is approx 69 km.
