Pindari Glacier situated in the captivating Kumaon Himalayas in Bageshwar is believed to be the most accessible of all glacier treks attracting amateurs as well as mastered trekkers. The place has received its name Pindari on a mythological belief that Pandavas performed the ritual of Pind Dan in this place before leaving to heaven. Pindari Glacier is the main source for the Pindari River which merges into River Alaknanda at the confluence in Karnaprayag. The trail for Pindari Glacier passes through the dense forests of Oak, Rhododendron, Taxus, Silver fur, Devdara, Paper buck, animals like black beer, blue sheep, mountain deer, blue bear, and many other species of flora and fauna. The trek also trails through various ancient villages rich in culture and the Saryu River. The trek offers panoramic vistas of the valley and other Himalayan range peaks like Mt. Balijuri, Traill’s Pass, Panwalidwar, Changuch Peaks, Nandakot, Nanda Khat, and a few more to name. The trek is once in a lifetime experience one should have especially when the trek is a soft adventure for amateurs to experience to witness the Moraine less Glacier offering a view of blue ice. There is a probability to meet Baba Dharmanand who has been meditating there for more than two decades.

The name Sunderdhuna means ‘a valley of beautiful stones’, Sukhram and Maiktoli are the eminent glaciers of the Sunerdhuna Valley. The valley is a famous trekking destination along with its neighboring trekking glaciers, Pindari and Kafni Glaciers. The trek offers the trails through the dense forest of Rhododendron, Old Cedar, and Pine trees. The route for the Sunderdhuna trek is the same as the Pindari Glacier trek till Khati Village. But Sunderdhuga trek is not as easy as the Pindari Trek. The trek provides a quaint and scenic view of the glaciers and peaks like Maiktoli, Tharkot, Mrigthuni, and Panwalidwar. It is one of the musts to do treks offerings natural magnificence passing through Dhudia Dhaung, Kathalia, and Jaitoli. The best time for Sunderganga Trek is April to June and September to October as it is famous for summer and winter snow treks.

- Bageshwar in Monsoon( June-September)
- The weather in Bageshwar during this time is cool and pleasant with temperatures ranging from 22℃-30℃. Through due to heavy rainfalls on some days has a risk of landslides, therefore avoiding travel here during June and July is suggested. August to September is the best time in the month of monsoon with morning mist and dews around.
- Bageshwar in Winters ( October- February)
- The winters are extremely cold and chilly in Bageshwar. The temperatures fall to 5℃. The best time to visit Bageshwar in Winters is December to February for those willing to experience the snow and chilly weather.

Bageshwar by Air
The nearest Airport to Bageshwar is Jolly Grant Airport (DED) which is well connected to all the major cities of India. Flights here are daily and frequent. Flights of Air India, Indigo, and Spicejet have multiple flights each day at affordable prices. From Jolly Grant Airport cabs, taxis, government, and private buses are available. Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun to Bageshwar distance is 297km. Another nearest Airport to Bageshwar is Pantnagar Airport (PGH) which is at a distance of approx.220km. But it is less active compared to Jolly Grant Airport (DED) with 4 flights round from Delhi per week.
Bageshwar by Rail
The nearest railway station to Bageshwar is Kathgodam Railway Station (KGM) at a distance of nearly 180km is a 3 platformed station where trains from different cities of India halt. 1 Daily and 1 weekly train are available from New Delhi which takes a minimum of 05hr and 30 mins and a maximum of 08hr 40 mins. From Kathgodam taxis and Cabs are available that covers a distance of 149km
Bageshwar by Road
Bageshwar is well connected to the maximum because of its hilly terrain. The towns connecting are Kausani and Almora. The distance between Kausani and Bageshwar is 40km and Almora to Bageshwar distance is 80km. The distance from Delhi to Bageshwar is 442km via NH9. From Dehradun to Bageshwar by road is 318 km via NH7. Bareilly to Bageshwar distance is 216 km via NH309A. Nainital to Bageshwar is 136km via NH 109 and NH309A. Haldwani to Bageshwar distance is 161km via NH109 AND NH309A. Bageshwar from Munsiyari is 129 km via Almora-Bageshwar- Munsiyari Rd. Pithoragarh to Bageshwar is 132km distant. Ranikhet to Bageshwar is just 80 km via Garechhina Rd.
For Delhi to Bageshwar by bus, several overnight buses are available which will drop till Nainital and Kathgodam. Further, the journey is to be commenced by a car or taxi.
