Thekkady

The name of the city has been derived from the word "thekku" which means teak. It is also home to the country's largest Tiger reserve national Park. In Thekkady, the very famous Periyar National Park is situated. This national park is commonly famous for its dense evergreen forest and the Savanah grassland. This place experiences a pleasant climate all throughout the year. It is situated near to Kerala and Tamil Nadu border. The very known and interesting fact is that a place named Murikaddy is exactly 5km from Thekkady which is famous for its coffee and spice plantation and very nearby to that is a place also named with Chellar Kovil is another spot where you can enjoy the waterfalls and cascades and you can carry a box full of memories by taking a lot of picturesque.
