Swamimalai is a town in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is located near Kumbakonam. Swamimalai literally translates to "God's Mountain," and the existence of a spiritual presence is palpable in and around this settlement. Swamimalai is one of Lord Murugan's six Padai Veedugal or Battle Camps, and it is home to the state's only bronze coin school. Rice and sugar cane are the two main crops grown in the town, which has a predominantly agrarian economy. Tiruverakam was Swamimalai's previous name.
