Ranchi

Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand, is a picturesque town on the Chhota Nagpur Plateau. Before the state was carved out of Bihar, it was the summer capital. Ranchi gets its name from the word ‘Archi,' which means bamboo forest. At a height of 2,140 feet above sea level, the town is completely covered in red soil. Ranchi, which is known for its waterfalls, green hilly regions, barren rocks, and beautiful valleys, is also abundant in natural resources such as iron, coal, copper, mica, and other minerals, making it a major industrial center.
