Patan

Patan is located on the north side of Gujarat State, on the Saraswati River in lowland and between the Aravali Range and Gulf of Khambhat. The city is famous for the Patola silk saris, Patan's handwoven silk is the finest in India and used to design Patola Silk Sarees. India's famous stepwell is a major tourist attraction and it is renowned by Patan as Rani ki Vav and It is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is rich in history, culture and architectural monuments. Patan was a major Centre of Jainism and had a large number of Jain Temples. Patan is a treasure trove of an ancient temple, culture and one of Gujarat's historical ancient cities and the capital of Gujarat in the olden period.
