Panhala

The charming city of Panhala is a big hill station in the Kolhapur district of Maharashtra. It is the smallest city in the state and is located at an elevation of around 3200 feet above sea level. The Panhala Fort is a popular tourist destination. The Sajja Kothi, or Punishment Cell, is easily the most interesting part of the fort, and it's where Shivaji is rumored to have made a daring escape. The Teen Darwaza stands at the entrance, one of only three possible entrances to the magnificent Fort.
