Mandu is a historical place that has Afgan architecture, apart from that the town has Baobab trees in abundance. It is said that Shahjahan was inspired by Hoshangshah’s Tomb to build the Taj Mahal. The Royal Enclave of Mandu has a large premise that includes different palaces such as Jahaz Mahal, Hindola Mahal, Hamam, Dilawar Khan’s Mosque, Tabeli Mahal which is now the Guest House under the Archeological Survey of India. Mandu also has a romantic history Of Baj Bahadur and Rani Roopmati. Being a Mughal Leader Baz Bahadur built Rewa Kund for his lover Rani Roopmati. The Kund was used to supply water in Rani Roopmati’s Pavilion. Mandu has started a light and sound show at Hindola Mahal and it depicts the story of Mandu in an effortless manner so that everyone can understand it. Neelkanth Mahadev Mandir is another attraction in Mandu which is built by Akbar for his Hindu wife Jodha. The temple has a fine mixture of Hindu and Mughal architecture which makes it extremely beautiful, the temple also provides scenic beauty of Vindhyachal mountains. There is also the Ashmadha fossil museum that has approximately 25 fossiled dinosaur’s egg which are six crores years old.
