Manali Town

Manali was the homeland of the lawgiver of Brahmin -Manu and the town is named after him. Manali shifted the name of the word Manu-Alaya. A legend has it, that one day the seventh embodiment of Manu found a tiny fish and that fish told him you take off him as he would do him a tremendous benefit one day. He took care of the fish until he grew and acquitted it into the sea before going. The fish warned him about the world being submerged and said he would be a competent ark during the flood and there was a flood that submerged the earth as per said by fish. That fish rescued Manu and other Gods. When flood water receded, Manus ark came to rest upon a hill, which was after called Manali.Explore some of the prominent tourist attractions such as old Manali, Jogini Waterfalls,Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa Monastery, Solang Valley, Hidimba temple, Manu temple, Mall road etc.
