Kollam

Kollam is located on the Malabar coast of India in Kerala. Kollam has extensively large forest cover on its eastern part of the home for numerous eco-tourism projects like Shenduruni, Palaruvi etc. Kollam has a long history of commercial, political and cultural significance and it's mention in several ancient travellers book, a varied colonial past under the Portuguese, the British and the Dutch. Kollam has an area of historical significance like The Thangasseri Lighthouse, St. Thomas Fort, Thevally palace, Cheenakkottaram etc. and also a region of several old buildings constructed by the Travancore Kings in a variation of architectural style. It is one of the cashew industry. Neendakara and Thangasseri are two main fishing harbours in Kollam.
