The Kutch district's Hodka village is ready to serve visitors from all over the country and the world. The village is near Bhuj and is one of 15 rural tourism sites being established by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The village 'Hodka' taken its name from the Gujarati word 'hodi,' which means 'boats.' It is said that the village was founded by the Sindhi Halepotra tribe. Cattle herders in search of pastures made up the majority of them. Birdwatching is one of the major activity to be done here. A trip to the wetlands of the Chhari Dhand can be taken from Hodka Village, where visitors can see a number of resident and migratory birds. Chhari Dhand is a 10-square-kilometre reserve that is home to nearly 50,000 waterfowl and 55 endangered animal species.
