Hemkund Sahib

Hemkund Sahib is known as Shri Hemkund Sahib Ji, it is a famous Gurudwara and worship place of Sheikh. This pilgrimage site is located in Chamoli District, Uttarakhand. It is one of the highest Gurudwara of the Sheikhs, got its name from the glacial lake Hemkund, it is situated at a height of 4329 mts. This pilgrimage site is dedicated to the tenth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Govind Singh Ji and also locates its mention in Dasam Grant, it is a work dedicated to Guru Ji. The quiet Hemkund Sahib Lake and Gurudwara take you into the world of peace. This place comes into existence, due to the autobiography of Guru Govind Singh called Bachitria Natak. The lush green forest, crystal clear lake water and the peaks of the Himalayas attract tourists to visit this place and it is also popular for trekking. In Hemkund Sahib there is a temple of God Lakshman.
