George Everest's House is located on Mall Road and has long been the home of Sir George Everest, a well-known Welsh surveyor and geographer. The geographer couldn't get enough of Mussoorie's natural beauty and decided to settle down here for thirty years. The house is now one of the most visited tourist attractions in Uttarakhand. The George Everest's House is about 6 kilometres from the Library Bazaar and is easily accessible by car or hired taxi. The verdant Aglar River valley is on one side of the Sir George Everest House, and the snow-capped Himalayas are on the other.
