Ernakulam

Ernakulam, Kochi's urban face, is a hive of activity with crowded shopping malls, restaurants, and skyscrapers. There are few places in India where colossal business hubs coexist with a 400-year-old synagogue, ancient mosques, Portuguese buildings, and decaying Business Raj sites. Furthermore, the Keralan art shows are what bring the most visitors to Ernakulam. The name 'Ernakulam' is derived from the name of a well-known Shiva temple called the "Ernakulathappan Temple," which literally means "Pond for a long time."
