Chidambaram temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in the southern part of Tamil Nadu. The ancestral name of the temple complex, Chidambaram Thillai Nataraja-Koothan Kovil. The architecture of the temple displays the link between spirituality and arts. The temple was built during the 10th century. Chidambaram temple complex is one of the oldest temples complexes in Southern India and the most unique part of this temple is an image of Nataraj decorated with jewellery. There are five main halls. The place has vital importance from both historical perspectives and cultural point of view. This temple is placed at the centre point of the worlds magnetic equator and cover around thirty-five acres and constructed of stone and are magnificent.
