Bharatpur aka Eastern Gateway to Rajasthan has a history that dates back to the 5th Century BC when the Matsya Kingdom thrived here. In the 18th Century, Maharaj Surajmal conquered the fort and Bharatpur and laid the foundation for the city. The brave Maharaja was very keen to expand the cities by building numerous fort and palace that depict the Maharaja's Kingdom. Bharatpur is also home to the famous bird sanctuary i.e. Keoladeo National Park, it houses more than 364 species of migratory birds from various countries. Other famous tourist attractions like Lohagarh Fort, Fateh, Laxman Mandir, Bharatpur Palace, Deeg, Ganga Mandir Etc.
