May to June and September to October are preferred as the best months to visit Kedarnath. During monsoons, the season is difficult to trek because landslides and floods are very common during this time of the year. The best months to visit Kedarnath are from May to June and September to October. Monsoon Seasons are rather dangerous due to the risk of landslides and floods.

Kedarnath in Summer

The best season to visit Kedarnath is summer (April- June) when the sun is warm and; a gentle cool breeze lingers in the environment. The temperature stays between 15-30 degrees Celsius.

• Kedarnath in May maximum(9.9 degrees celsius), minimum(-0.1 degree Celsius). The weather is pleasant and cool in May Summers are the perfect time for sightseeing, temple visits, and adventure activities.
• Kedarnath in June maximum(11 degrees celsius), minimum(3 degrees celsius). June is the hottest month  of the Year, but the weather is quite suitable  to visit Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath in Monsoon

During the monsoon season (July - September), Kedarnath becomes unpredictable. Due to heavy rain, there's a constant danger of landslides and roadblocks.

• Kedarnath in July maximum(12 degrees celsius), minimum(6 degrees celsius). There are occasional rains and the temperature drops to 12°C.
• Kedarnath in  August maximum(14.1 degrees celsius), minimum(8.6 degrees celsius). Landslides are common during this month. You can go trekking, pilgrims visit Kedarnath during monsoons.
• Kedarnath in  September maximum(11.9 degrees celsius), minimum(4.7 degrees celsius). The weather is pleasant and clear this month and you will feel refreshed throughout the day. Woolen clothes are required for Kedarnath in September.

Kedarnath in Winters

 (October - March) is harsh and cold in Kedarnath. Oxygen levels drop as you climb higher, and you may encounter trouble breathing. The landscape is beautiful; however, temperatures are below freezing point at times.

• Kedarnath in October maximum(8 degrees celsius), minimum(-1.6 degree Celsius). The temple will close for the year around Diwali time. The temperature will be in the zeros at night and mornings are quite pleasant.
• Kedarnath in November maximum(4 degrees celsius), minimum(4-degree Celsius). This season is not a perfect time to travel to this place, because roads to Kedarnath get blocked due to heavy snowfall.
• Kedarnath in  December maximum(-2 degree Celsius), minimum(-15 degree celsius). Best time for the tourists to visit if they want to avoid crowds and long queues for the darshan of Kedarnath Temple. 
• Kedarnath in January maximum(-4 degree Celsius), minimum(-18 degree celsius). January is snowbound and has a freezing climate. Kedarnath remains closed and inaccessible during January.
• Kedarnath in February maximum(-3 degree Celsius), minimum(-17 degree celsius). Due to the snowfall, it is not the recommended time to visit Kedarnath.
• Kedarnath in March maximum(1-degree Celsius), minimum(-12 degree celsius). Kedarnath remains closed during the month of March.
