Jibhi is a hypnotic hamlet of the Himalayas with offbeat panoramic and alluring natural landscapes amidst the opulent green forests. Jibhi is an offbeat destination of Himachal Pradesh, perfect for one to get spell bounded with their loved ones for some peaceful and relaxing moments. The pristine temples, lush pine forests, and tranquil fresh lakes make Jibhi a worthful place to visit. Jibhi Geography

Jibhi is located in the Banjar Valley of Kullu District at an elevation of 5250ft amidst the Himalayan ranges heading towards the east. The Jibhi is popularly known for its flora and fauna as it is also a base for the world heritage site, the Great Himalayan National Park. Jibhi from Delhi is nearly at a distance of 500km, Jibhi from Chandigarh 283km, Jibhi from Shimla 160km, 100km from Manali, 60km from Mandi, and just 12km from Tirthan Valley.

Raghupur Fort 

Raghupur fort is damaged, present with only the external part, a stretch of 4 km that passes through beautiful pine trees & deodar forest with an amazing view of the snow-covered cliff. The fort was built for defense during the reign of Kullu King Raghupur. The neighboring King of Mandi and Raghupur fought a few times for this fort and later Britishers decommissioned during the British rule. The fort gives a 360-degree view of the Jibhi Valley. The trek to Raghupur fort is an easy trek for amateurs to professionals anybody can do it.

Great Himalayan National Park

Great Himalayan National Park is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and one of the biggest National Parks of India. Great Himalayan National Park carpeted over a whooping 754 sq km is located at an elevation ranging from 4921 ft to 19685 ft. The park is home to 25000 species of flora and 800 species of fauna and aerial faunas. The park is home to many extraordinary animal species, most commonly seen around are blue sheep, snow leopard, Himalayan brown bear, musk deer, plum-headed parakeet, and many more. Many plants here are of herbal and medicinal use too. The park offers an experience of trekking and camping. The best time to visit Great Himalayan National Park is Summer & Autumn.

Jalori Pass

Jalori Pass/ Jalori Kot is located at an elevation of around 3000 meters surrounded by green pine trees and rocky hills with a windy breeze. Jibhi to Jalori Pass is at a distance of just 12 meters. It is a gateway to some heavenly Himalayan treks. On trails, one can encounter exotic flora and fauna which beautifies the journey. The pass remains open from late March to December. Also, there is a temple dedicated to Jalori Mata near the summit. Jalori Pass is one of the must-visit destinations while in Jibhi. Jalori Pass is at its best in the spring season. Jalori Pass is usually recognized as the snow-covered peak shown in the Bollywood movie, 'Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani'. The Jalori pass trek is of Moderate level where the path also covers the Serolsar lake and Budh Nagin Temple

Serolsar Lake

Serolsar Lake located at an elevation of  3199 meters is a peaceful lake to sit by and enjoy the view of a dense forest of pine trees which covers the surrounding area of the lake. Jibhi to Serolsar Lake is just 12 km away. The myth that follows around Serolsar lake is that the lake is kept clean by the birds that pick up even a single leaf fallen in the lake. Serolsar lake water is believed to have medicinal properties. Buddha Nagini temple is located on the lakeside. Devotees offer ghee to the Goddess here, the legend about the lake and the Goddess Buddha Nagin is that  Goddess Budha Nagin herself lived in the golden palace at the bottom of the lake.

Shringa Rishi Temple

Shringa Rishi Temple is a three-storied temple dedicated to the “devta” of the Banjar Valley that is Rishi Shinga. Shringa Rishi Temple from Jibhi is located apparently at a distance of 500 meters with lush green trees and flowers blooming all year round welcoming devotees who come for prayers and to seek blessings. This temple gives a mesmerizing bird’s eye view of the place as it’s situated at an elevation. The temple has a wooden and stone structure similar to Chehni colorfully painted by the locals

How to Reach Jibhi

Jibhi by Air

The nearest airport to Jibhi is Bhuntar Airport (KUU) in the Kullu district. It is 60 km away from Jibhi and it takes around 2hrs to reach Jibhi. You can hire a taxi from Bhuntar to Jibhi.
For people willing to reach Jibhi from Mumbai there are no direct flights for Mumbai to Jibhi but the best way to reach Jibhi is by flight from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport (BOM) - Chandigarh Airport (IXC) or to Jolly Grant Airport (DED) and further continue their journey by Taxi, which is a journey of 8 to 10 hours.

Jibhi by Train

The nearest narrow gauge railway station to reach Jibhi is at Shimla Railway Station, which is around 160 km away and takes around 6 hrs to Jibhi. There is no direct service available from Delhi to Shimla, so passengers can change their trains in Kalka. A good opportunity for visitors to experience the iconic toy train from Kalka to Shimla The nearest broad gauge railway station to Jibhi is Chandigarh Railway Station which is the most preferred route. The journey can be further commenced by cabs, taxis or buses available locally.

Jibhi from Mumbai, there are no direct trains from Mumbai to Jibhi. One can commence their journey by train from Mumbai to Chandigarh, and continue their journey further in a taxi, cab, or bus.  There are 4 direct trains available from Mumbai to Chandigarh.

 Jibhi by Road

One of the convenient ways to reach Jibhi from Delhi is by bus, board a bus for Manali from Delhi and get off at Aut. From Aut, hire a taxi pickup or take another bus to Banjar, which is 8 km before Jibhi, and get a taxi from there. You can easily reach by car from Delhi to Jibhi. It is 493 km from Delhi. It takes around 12-13 hrs to cover the distance till Jibhi. From Chandigarh 283km, from Shimla 160km, 100km from Manali, 60km from Mandi, and just 12 km from Tirthan Valley.

The earliest way to reach Jibhi from Mumbai via land route is self-drive which takes 27 hrs. There are many private buses Which run from Mumbai to Jaisinghpur and further a taxi to reach Jibhi. Know More

Jibhi in Summer (March - June)

  • Summers in Jibhi with warm and sunny days are certainly one of the best times to visit Jibhi with temperatures from 20 to 30℃. It’s cool and breezy during the night in these months with temperatures from 12℃ to 15℃. The Jibhi valley is in full bloom during this season and gives wonderful views, especially through the mountain passes as the sky is clear during these months.

Jibhi in Monsoon (Mid- July -Mid September)

  • Rains in Jibhi during monsoons are unpredictable and can go for days non-stop. But people who love to spend time in the mountains during the monsoon can indulge themselves in sightseeing nearby areas and explore cafes in Jibhi. Weather in Jibhi during monsoons has temperatures of 15-22 degrees.

Jibhi Post-Monsoon (Mid- September- November)

  • Rains in Jibhi rarely last till mid-September leaving a lush green panoramic view. Perfect time for trekking. One can spot different migratory birds during this time. The weather becomes chilly towards the end of October.

Jibhi in Winter (December- February)

  • Jibhi in winter is a perfect time for snow and bone-chilling winter lovers. While many treks are closed due to snowfall yet Jalori and Revel treks are open to experiencing knee-deep snow. Café Jungle Valley

Cafe Jungle Valley is a traditionally built restaurant with a homestay in Jibhi. With colorful cushions and floor mattresses, it will leave you with a cozy comfortable Pahadi vibe. One would definitely come back after experiencing the warm staff and lip-smacking food. Their Tibetian cuisines are a must-try. The Cafe Jungle Valley is located in Banjar, it serves from morning 9 am.

Cafe Hope

Cafe Hope is an amazing rooftop cafe with a mesmerizing view and a romantic atmosphere amidst the hills. It is set in a riverside location with the music of gushing waters and a view of the mountains. Hope cafe is popularly known for serving the best American-style food in Jibhi. Hash brownies and Masala tea are worth tasting here. The place serves from morning 8: 30 am to 10 pm. 

Café Old School Jibhi

Cafe Old School is one of the artistic cafes in Jibhi offering fine riverside dining in the lap of the Himalayas. The cafe has an amazing environment for late-night dines with the chill breeze and warm food. The Gajar ka Halwa served here has an astonishing taste. The cafe is open from 9 am to 10 pm.
