One of the high-altitude motorable passes is Rohtang Pass in Himachal Pradesh and one of the most popular destinations to visit in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Rohtang pass height is 3978m above sea level. Manali Rohtang pass distance is 62 km and is connected from two ends, one from Manali side via Gulaba, and another from Solang Valley via Atal Tunnel. Rohtang pass is a connecting pass for Lahaul and Spiti. The green valley of Kullu is the starting point of Gulaba and the high snow-covered mountain land with dry barren land on the other end of the pass that connects to the first village of Lahaul that is Sissu and Rohtang pass to Leh is also one of the major routes running through the destination. One needs to take prior permission from the government officials to go through the pass as the pass carries a lot of importance from the time of the Kargil war. One can get an online Rohtang pass permit so that the journey continues smoothly. Rohtang Pass is also the Valley of the Dead. As many people have died while crossing the pass. Rohtang Pass connects Srinagar and Leh highway through national highway 44.

How to reach Rohtang Pass from Delhi by train? The nearest railway station is in Joginder Nagar for traveling to Rohtang Pass via train. From Joginder Nagar to reach Rohtang pass one can hire a cab or bus to travel. The distance between the two is about 206 km which takes around 7 hours to reach the Rohtang Pass going through national highway 3. However, it is advisable to take a train to Chandigarh and then take a bus, since Joginder Nagar is a narrow gauge and will consume too much of your time.
