About Dalhousie

Dalhousie got its title from the famous personality Lord Dalhousie, who was the British Governor-General in the 19th century. The prominent hill station Dalhousie was entrenched in the year 1854 as a recoil to abscond the sweltering heat of Indian summer. Dalhousie was allured by the enjoyable climate and harmonious atmosphere of this mountain region. The five hills were obtained by the British from the leader of Chamba, the name of that five hills are Bhangora, Bakrota, Moti Tibba, Potreyn, and Kathalagh. For the payment of hills, the Britishers diminished the portion of the tax imposed on the ruler.
