Known for tranquillity and the serene calmness, the butterfly beach of South Goa is a relatively unexploited beach unlike any other beach of North Goa. Butterfly beach is the best part of South Goa and it is also known by the name of honeymoon beach. It is one of the secluded vacation spots for newly married couples. The butterfly-shaped island is only approachable by ferry from either Palolem beach or Agonda beach. You can also opt for a ship for a wide and punctuated experience. There is no direct ride to butterfly beach, you have to take a cab from Panaji to Palolem Beach which will take about 30-40 minutes. From Palolem Beach, there is a boat ride that will drop you at Butterfly Beach.
November to March is the best time to visit this beach as the weather is pleasant and the boats from Palolem beach aren’t operating in the Monsoon season due to heavy rainfall. There is no point in visiting Butterfly Beach in the summer season as the temperature goes around 40℃.
Cola Beach is yet another hidden gem of South Goa which is also known as Khola Beach located in the Canacona area peppered with volcanic boulders. Cola Beach is hidden with thick overgrown hills, rocky terrain as it is off the beaten path and this makes cola beach perfect for sunbathers. A small hill divides Cola Beach into North Cola Beach and South Cola Beach joined by a river in a middle known as Emerald Lagoon because of its unique green colour. The sunset here is magical, as the sun sets the landscape of the beach reflects the sun rays in a unique way. Cola Beach also has a very calm water where you can swim for hours and for this the best time to visit here is from October to March. There is no public transport that will lead you directly till here, if you are coming from a flight then hire a taxi since this place is 60 Km away and 12 Km away from Railway Station. As there is not much of the touristy to this beach you can come with your loved ones and spend some peaceful moments, but also remember that there are very few shacks at Cola Beach so most of the eating places are inside the resort.

Unlike other beaches of North Goa, Arambol beach has the timing to follow, it is open for all the age groups every day, but the public is allowed to enter after 5 AM in the morning and the beach closes at 11 PM at night.
Taking a cab or a taxi from Panaji is the easiest way to reach Arambol Beach. There are also direct buses available for Arambol Beach which are scheduled at every 30 minutes. The bus will drop you at Arambol bus stand, from there it's a walk of 1Km.

At a distance of only 8 KM from Margao and 27 Km from Panaji, Colva Beach is located in the Southern part of Goa and is yet another hidden beach of Goa. Kakolem Beach is the most secluded and truly natural beach of Goa, here you will find the least crowd of Goa and you can completely relax over here. As the beach is mostly lonely, Kakolem Beach is highly considered to be the best place for newly married couples who come to Goa for a honeymoon. The beach is about 31 Km from the city of Margao. It is well-advised to carry your food and drinks with yourself as you will not get any shacks for food or even any kind of accommodation. As the beaches are untouched by the heavy tourist crowd of Goa, you can spend some relaxation time here. The best way to reach here is via sea, you can rent a water engine transport and reach Kakolem without hiking any cliff. The beach opens at 6 AM in the morning and gets close at 10 PM at night.
There are no direct buses or taxis available for Kakolem beach as there are only small paths off the main road that leads to Kakolem Beach. It is 60 Km away from Panaji city. You can reach here by private cabs or rickshaws available from Margao.
